El proyecto
Finales del verano de 1991.Hans Kammerlander y Hans-Peter Eisendle, dos de los alpinistas más atrevidos de la historia, se aventuraron con un nuevo desafío —híbrido y progresivo— en sus montañas natales: subir en un solo día por la cara norte el Ortles y la Cima Grande di Lavaredo, recorriendo así la distancia entre ambas montañas (246 km) sin trucos, solo con sus bicicletas. Lo que nació como poco más que un juego pronto se convirtió en el centro de una nueva forma de concebir las actividades alpinas.
Primavera del 2018. Simon Gietl y Vittorio Messini tomarán la batuta y desafiarán el logro de sus compañeros añadiendo una tercera cara norte —la del Grossglockner— y 117 kilómetros más en bicicleta. Esta aventura no solo servirá de ejemplo de una manera híbrida, limpia y sostenible de disfrutar de la montaña, ni será una mera hazaña o un tributo a un evento histórico y su espíritu: el proyecto entero servirá para recaudar fondos para Südtirol Hilft, una organización benéfica que ayuda a gente muy necesitada.

3+2=2 - Tres caras norte, dos trayectos en bici y dos alpinistas: Simon y Vittorio emprenderán el camino desde Solda a las 19:00. La idea es alcanzar la cima del Ortles a la una de la madrugada y después descender esquiando. Sobre las 17:30, tras 10 horas en bici, subirán por la ruta clásica Comici-Dimai en la Cima Grande di Lavaredo y bajarán por la ruta normal. Después de recorrer otros 117 kilómetros en bici, empeñarán sus últimos esfuerzos en alcanzar el Grosslockner, antes de concluir la aventura sobre las 19:00 en Lucknerhaus, Austria. Su objetivo: completar el proyecto en menos de 48 horas.
3+2=2 - Three north faces, two bike rides and two alpinists: Simon and Vittorio will start from Sulden at 7 pm. The aim is to reach the summit of Ortles at 1 am and then ski down. At around 5.30 pm, after 10 hours on their bike, they will climb the classical route Comici-Dimai on Cima Grande di Lavaredo and descend on the normal route. After another 117 kilometers by bike they will reach the Grosslockner for their last effort, before finishing their adventure at around 7.00 pm at Lucknerhaus, in Austria. Their goal: finishing the project in under 48 hours.

Simon’s life revolves around the idea of discovering, defining and climbing new routes, modern and difficult, but with traditional protections. He likes to travel and to explore new and unexpected places, but the Dolomites are still his inspiration and favourite playground.
He is an alpinist at the very core, but he doesn’t disdain practicing a lot of running, bicycling and ski touring, as a fun means of training but also just as a clean way to reach the mountains.

Simon nació en 1984, vive en Lutago (Valle Aurina) y es atleta profesional. Su vida gira en torno a la idea de descubrir, diseñar y recorrer rutas nuevas, más modernas y difíciles, pero con las protecciones tradicionales. Le gusta viajar y descubrir lugares nuevos e inesperados, pero los Dolomitas siguen siendo su fuente de inspiración y entorno favorito.
Es un alpinista innato, pero eso no quiere decir que no practique otros deportes: correr, montar en bici y el esquí de travesía le ayudan a mantenerse en forma y alcanzar las cimas de una manera distinta.
VITTORIO MESSINI
PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE
Vittorio nació en Florencia en 1988 y vive en Kals, a los pies del Grossglockner, desde que era niño. Trabaja como guía de montaña, compartiendo su pasión absoluta por las montañas con los demás. Es una persona humilde y motivada, y le encanta adentrarse en la montaña de la manera más limpia posible, sin dejar nada atrás y llevándose únicamente buenos recuerdos y anécdotas que contar.

Vittorio, born in Florence in 1988, lives in Kals, at the feet of the Grossglockner, since he was a child. He works as a mountain guide, sharing his all-around passion for mountains with others. He is a humble and motivated person, and loves to go to the mountains in the cleanest way possible, leaving nothing behind and taking only good memories and stories to share.
